Fooling Around Blues[Complete]

"Excellent once again"

date: March 18, 2009

Great job. Vocals were excellent, props to Jonathan. Drums were far from simple, and were done perfectly, props to andres. You still take the cake as the best blues guitarist on NG. If anyone disagrees, let me know.

Wow thanks hehe. I'm glad you enjoyed it, because it took me some time to write this one.

Quote:

"Are we talking about the same universe here? Because 90% of the guitar part was blues scale and blues scale only. As far as bad notes, I can only imagine you were following along in the music and saw when I missed what I was supposed to play, because that's the only concievable way for there to be 'bad notes'.

Thanks anyway for the review."

Bad notes don't fit right. They could be a semitone off, a little late in timing that just doesn't mesh right. And that was basically the whole song. The piano/organ part wasn't bad but the guitar just made me sick in a way. Way your guitar out of tune? If you say you played strictly to the Minor Blues Scale, an out of tune guitar could ruin the whole thing.

PS: there was no feeling...

I recommend you listen to Bagatelle No. 4 by Chick Corea. Everything else has been said.

Thanks for reviewing.

"Nice"

I liked the Chord Progression, and most of the drums- but the high-hat, chugged 8th note beat was a little too loud, and made it annoying. The solo guitar was a little too chorused. all around good though.

Not original by any means and it sounds a lot like this:

Walking Blues (RobertJohnson)

"Not too bad!"

date: December 2, 2008

Very Common Song, but its not the best I've heard it done. Slide hit guitar more times than I can count, and that's really a big NO. Voice is good.

overall, I like it.

"Not too shabby..."

Some of the guitar parts sound like they are in some sort of 5-bar format, gives it kind of a 'c'mon, next chord' kind of a feel. If you don't get what i'm saying, heres an example.

Basic E blues chord progression:
E E E E7 A A E E B A E B7

What yours sounded like was the basic II, that starts and ends on the same chord:
E E E E E A A E E E E E B A E E .... etc.

Author's Response:

thanks:D this is only my third song so ill take that in mind

it started as a 12 bar blues but i was bored so added a 16 bar blues onto the end of it then some stop breaks offbeats etc... then i added some prefab drums before uploading :D

Your band has (as of 11/2, about 12 PST) 7 songs in the top 7 spots of the punk genre. Have to say you deserve most of it.

Blues WarmUp Tune

"I don't think that this is a band."

submission: Blues WarmUp Tune

The drummer seems to only have 1 acoustic snare and a bass drum with a crash cymbol/ride, no toms, nothing. Me thinks that this is just a guitarist with a drum and bass program.
